The easiest beads to miss are not always the isolated ones. You can select a color code in Doumen to find matching cells, but you still need to compare the physical board before fusing, with or without an app. A large black area might contain just two or three gray beads; filling the whole block can conceal the mistake until the final check. A clear inspection order is more useful than staring at the entire design at once.
1. Identify where the error came from
Common causes include starting one row in the wrong place, filling positions intended for another color inside a large block, confusing similar codes, and missing one or two beads at an edge. A pattern displayed too small, poor lighting, and frequent interruptions can all make placement harder.
2. Check the outside outline first
Follow the top, bottom, left, and right edges, paying particular attention to corners and protruding details. The outline often makes a shifted row or missing cell easier to spot than interior fill.
3. Inspect small cells inside large color areas
“Mostly black” does not mean “entirely black.” Check the pattern for spaces reserved for light gray, white, or other codes, especially in eyes, shadows, and textures.
4. Check one color code at a time
After finishing a color, select its code in Doumen's making view to highlight matching cells. Compare the highlighted positions with the board, checking edges and scattered cells before changing colors. Verify the recognition results before you begin as well.
5. Make a final check before fusing
Confirm that the pattern is not accidentally reversed left to right, the outline is complete, and all required cells contain beads. Look for beads lying on their sides, stacked beads, or beads spanning pegs. Taking an overhead phone photo and zooming in is another simple way to inspect the board.
6. What if you notice a missing bead after fusing?
The possibility of repair depends on the degree of fusion, the material, and the gap's position. Reheating can leave marks or warp the project, and a damage-free repair is not guaranteed. Make inspection before fusing a regular step rather than relying on repairs afterward.
Frequently asked questions
Can Doumen automatically detect missing beads on my physical board?
No. It highlights positions in the digital pattern. You need to compare those with the actual board, especially the few cells of another color that must remain open inside a large area.
